Alan Watts: "When your head is clear, when your vision is clear, all the details can be made out. So that is why emptiness equals form."What makes a call clear? It requires freedom from interference, an empty line of vision. Nothingness. Nothingness provides the empty space in which to fill with detail. With emptiness, details become clear. Don’t you see, clarity describes the emptiness while at the same time making way for the detail of a clear call? This is what is meant by the Buddhist saying, “form is emptiness.” Duality is what forces us to see these two states as independent, but breaking down this wall of separateness can help eliminate your fear of emptiness. For death is not an emptiness to be feared, it is simply the clarity required to experience life.
